Frequently Asked Injury Questions

How Much Does it Cost to Have an Attorney Handle My Case?
You do not pay any money to meet or speak with us regarding your case. We never charge anyone to provide an evaluation of your case and give you our professional opinion on your likelihood of success. If you provide us with the opportunity to represent you in your injury case, the office is compensated only if it secures a recovery for you.

How Long Will it Take to resolve My Case?
The length of each and every case is different. One of the primary factors is the length of time it takes the individual to recover and rehabilitate from the injuries sustained. In most instances, the value of an injury claim cannot best be determined until you have reached Maximum Medical Improvement. That is a point at which the doctors feel that you will not reach any further long-lasting improvement. At that point, all future costs of medical care can be calculated and added along with all the other aspects of your case.

How Does My Attorney Get Paid?
The attorney does not get paid until he secures a recovery for you in your case. The recovery is based upon standards set out by the Florida Bar and/or the Federal Government.

Is it Worth Getting an Attorney on My Case if He Ultimately Receives a Percentage of My Recovery?
Back when I was a defense attorney, I was often asked by insurance company adjusters to draft settlement paperwork on cases between the insurance company and a Pro Se (unrepresented) individual. In almost all instances, the unrepresented person settled the claim for an amount that was on the lower end of reasonable.

If represented, the injury victim can rely on the attorney for advise and counsel throughout the case from initial treatment on through settlement. The represented individual is probably less likely to be taken advantage of by the insurance company and perhaps more likely to receive the benefits that the law allows throughout the case and receive a more favorable recovery at the end.
